Sept. 6-8: June Lake Jam Fest has biggest lineup yet

Music at the June Lake Jam fest starts Friday evening, and carries through Sunday evening

Beautiful June Lake in the Eastern Sierra will once again be offering a one-of-a-kind music festival this September.

The 501c3 Mono Arts Council, led by festival organizer Janet Hunt, is back for its fifth year, offering a wide range of jam music.

“This event brings together a perfect combination of incredible music shared with kind humans in a gorgeous natural setting,” Hunt said. “And in

addition, to have this high-quality event generate funding that supports MAC programs for kids, makes it an experience that has ongoing positive energy. It never gets old to walk through the crowd and see all the happy smiling faces. We all need more of this sense of belonging and community in our lives.”

This year’s lineup is led by California Soul rockers The Mother Hips, as well as Melvin Seals & Jerry Garcia Band, SoCal longtime Grateful Dead tribute veterans Cubensis, and a variety of regional touring acts ranging from blues, rock, funk, Americana and soul jazz. All proceeds benefit the aforementioned Mono Arts Council, which keeps music programs going in the Mono County school system. Zemaitis Guitars is donating an acoustic guitar to the festival, and a couple of the bands are teaching in the schools to the kids prior to the event.

Music starts Friday evening, and carries through Sunday evening, with bands all throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Expect excellent food vendors, as well as craft beer, and various clothing and merchandise. Stage and sound are provided by DJE, which also provides production for Skull & Roses Festival, as well as the O.C. Music Festival. June Lake Jam Fest is on the shore of Gull Lake, in between the glacier-speckled mountains.

There are a variety of accommodations from camping to condos, and other events taking place all weekend, such as after party shows at the T-Bar Social Club, also in June Lake. Passes are $159 for all three days, and $139 for Saturday and Sunday. However, if you enter the code tahoeonstage at checkout, you will receive a $10 discount. Ticket info is below.
