No blood, no pain, no kidding? Hellzapoppin at Crystal Bay

Hellzapoppin
Hellzapoppin, but nothing breaks during this prophylactic performance Thursday at Crystal Bay Casino.

There is nothing about how a condom is used in the Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue that promotes safety.

A fiery freak show, the Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue will be presented Thursday at the Crystal Bay Casino. Cringe-worthy stunts will be featured while rock ‘n’ roll is played. It’s like going on the Internet without pushing any buttons.

“We’re mavericks, trail blazers, rebels, rule breakers, outlaws … true uninhibited artists,” a press statement reads. “We deliver our message through sideshow, and fuel our art through passion. … Spectators will experience one of the world’s last authentic circus sideshows with performances using the human anatomy and death defying stunts of mind over matter, yet with no blood and no pain.”

Swords will be swallowed, as will really long balloons. Razors will be stepped upon and nails laid upon. There will be disturbing body surfing. Lots of fire. And that thing with the condom. Up your nose with a rubber hose.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Thursday’s show in the Crown Room starts at 10 p.m.
