The first Saturday of 2019 will be capped off with a performance by Drought Relief at the Lakeside Inn and Casino.
Drought Relief formed about six years ago out of a jam session at the same venue.
“We play classic rock, blues, some originals and some newer stuff, too,” said frontman Ron Blum.
The band includes longtime South Shore musician Torg Hallin, who plays lead guitar. “Torg can play anything, any of the rock and roll licks,” Blum said.
Also in the band are drummer AJ Steed, bassist Shiva Kirchanski and keyboard player Andy Vokel. For Saturday’s show Drought Relief will joined by a famous special guest guitarist, James Taylor.
Taylor, of course, is well known because he is a Lakeside Inn bartender.
“We’ll have a good crowd because we have a huge Heavenly following,” Blum said. “Lakeside is comfortable, the drink prices are lower and it’s a little bit away from the tourists.”
Saturday’s free show is from 9 p.m. to midnight.
