Vinyl at Hard Rock Casino will host a wee bit o’ fun Friday night, with South Shore’s own Connor Party setting up shop for a Saint Patrick’s Day frolic.

“(It’s going to be) the best Saint Patrick’s Day party that South Lake Tahoe has ever seen,” frontman Jeff Connor said. “I have a leprechaun under my bed that personally guarantees it.”
The Connor Party has been playing in and beyond South Lake Tahoe and Stateline since 2011, and has featured a number of South Shore musicians in its lineup over the years. The group is Connor (guitar, vocals), Alex Barrera (electric guitar), Todd Christensen (bass), and Adam Bergoch (drums). The group plays at Base Camp Pizza on Sunday evenings, and Connor regularly plays solo shows at California Burger Company, where he is also a manager. Connor appeared solo at Vinyl in February.
Connor Party will depart from its usual fare (a far-reaching and eclectic collection of cover songs, with a smattering of original tunes) Friday, in favor of pop music with Irish themes, Connor said, noting bands like the Dropkick Murphys and U2. The group is particularly psyched for the song “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” he said.
“Bring your dancing shoes,” Connor said. “It’s a free show, it starts at 10 p.m. at Vinyl. No breaks, runs till they kick us out. It’s going to be lots of fun.”
The band has also apparently put considerable effort into assembling some tastefully festive outfits for the occasion, although details were not forthcoming.
“You’re just going to have to come to see them, but we’ve worked hard on them,” Connor said.
Given the Connor Party’s rotating lineup and long list of prior members, guest musician sit-ins are certainly a possibility.
“The leprechaun under my bed will be there, and maybe some other special guests,” Connor said.
