It’s a slippery slope out there, but the lads from Lavish have a song sung green or two for you.
Celebrating St. Paddy’s Day weekend, Lavish Green will serve up the tunes Saturday night at 7800 Bar and Grill in Kirkwood. If you need an excuse to party, it’s Greg Hall’s birthday bash. The free show starts at 9:30 p.m.
Perhaps some green beer will still be on tap, or maybe a shot of Jameson will have to do as frontman Chris Sanchez belts out “At the Bar.” Trumpeter Sanchez will be joined by bandmates Joel Gruneich on guitar, Rob Wheeler on bass and Danny Barnes on drums.
Sax player Seth Hall and Denver Dean Pullin on second trumpet were also onstage when Lavish Green tore up the Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Valentine’s Day weekend. Nothing like a holiday to throw a party, and more than 450 fans packed the Stateline venue as the band rock and rolled into its 21st year as South Shore’s favorite sons.
Lavish Green has been hunkered down lately in its Carson City jam room, tightening up new tunes for an album to be released in coming months.
“One good thing about music,” the band wrote on its Facebook page, “is when it hits, you feel no pain.” Bob Marley would be proud.
On April 28 (barely a week after the 4/20 holiday), Lavish will perform at the Psychedelic Ballroom and Jukejoint in dowtown Reno for an all-ages show with Hemlock and Bionic Gorilla. It’s a jungle out there.
