Tahoe’s Boil ‘N Fryday slings derision at ocean mudbugs

Photographer Dan Wallisch captures the light during Wednesday’s concert in the MontBleu Outdoor Events Center, which will be the site Saturday for the inaugural Boil ‘N Fryday.

Saturday is Boil ‘N Fryday on the grass in the MontBleu Outdoor Event Center.

The event celebrates Lake Tahoe’s crawfish. Live music, lawn games, a Miss Crawfish competition and, of course, food will be featured.

Tahoe Lobster Company will supply the crawfish, which it claims is superior to mudbugs from the sea.

“Unlike crawfish that come from the muddy waters of the south, these fresh water lobsters are much cleaner and healthier especially since they are fresh out of the lake within 12 hours,” a release states.

Chicken wings, poboys and barbecues also will be served.

Director of Entertainment and Food & Beverage Dave Davis said it will be an annual event.

Onstage will be Weapon, the Infamous Swanks, the Parmesans, Arden Park Roots and the Americans.

The event starts at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children and kids 6 and younger enter free.
