Friday and Saturday ‘Sweet Talk’ burlesque shows at MontBleu

Love has grown for a Lake Tahoe’s Valentine’s Day tradition.

Sweet Talk
“Sweet Talk” will be presented in the MontBleu Theatre on Fridays and Saturdays through April 5.

Champagne Production’s annual Valentine’s Day burlesque revue has moved from MontBleu’s nightclub into the showroom for a run of 19 shows through April 5.

Featuring a 10-member cast, “Sweet Talk: A Delicious Electro-Cirque Kiss” opened Jan. 19. It will be performed at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the winter.

“It’s bigger to accommodate the bigger stage,” said Jessica Broyles of Champagne Productions. “We’re taking advantage of the space and the rigging capabilities and the lighting capabilities. We’re adding in graphic designers who are doing projection to the front and back of the stage.”

The 70-minute show will feature aerial dancers, male and female dancers, music by DJ Viola LaLa Mia and San Francisco pole artist Featherpistol. There will be 19 “fresh” performances, said Broyles, who has choreographed and performed in Stateline shows for a decade.

“Were trying to take a lot of conventional aerial things you see now and give it a little bit of a twist, make them new,” she said. “My goal is by having the live DJ onstage and the live graphic designers onstage every night is that the show will always look and sound a little bit different so even locals will want to come more than once. We want people to get up and dance and have fun with the show. We want people to interact and have fun.”

Tickets are $20 and doors open at 8 p.m. “Sweet Talk” will be performed each Friday and Saturday night except on Feb. 1, Feb. 8 and March 28.
