There will be no dousing of the fiery production Ignite.
The weekly adult “cabaresque” revue at Harveys Lake Tahoe has been extended a month to Saturday, May 25. The show is performed in the 220-seat Harveys Cabaret.
“It is nice to be in a nostalgic, legendary cabaret that hasn’t had a show running in there for many years,” producer Madeline Feldman said. “It used to be home to shows seven nights a week, two shows a night. It used to be part of the culture and the scene at Tahoe.
“The response from the community is that we’ve missed this. It’s nice to have shows back. We wish there were more.”
There will be more. Feldman is writing a new show that will be held at Harveys next fall. It will include some of the Ignite cast. Other members will continue to perform Ignite next fall at Harrah’s Reno.
Ignite is Feldman’s 21st production. She’s never had a cast like this one before.
“This was a mostly new cast,” she said. “The majority hadn’t been in a professional show before. That was the biggest challenge and the biggest reward, seeing the performers grow and put on a high caliber show.
Perhaps due to some winter snowstorms, Ignite started slowly on Jan. 26. But eventually it began to sell out most of the shows. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.
