Pack bags for the Misty Mountain: Robert Plant to play High Sierra

It’s been a long time since we’ve rock and rolled like this: The High Sierra Music Festival this week announced Robert Plant presents the Sensational Space Shifters will perform July 4, the opening day of the four-day event.

Plant will sing his songs from Led Zeppelin, according to the High Sierra website.

Plant played bluegrass in 2008 at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys with Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett on the Raising Sand Tour.

Plant at the time said he had no interest in reuniting with surviving Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. However, he will readdress the songs during the High Sierra Music Festival

Also added to the lineup are Reno’s Jelly Bread, Papadosio, The M Machine, Moksha featuring Skerik and Jennifer Hartswick, Orgone, The Hot 8 Brass Band, Mike Dillon Band, Nataly Dawn, Silent Frisco, Tumbleweed Wanderers, The Melodic, Jelly Bread, Scott Pemberton and Living Folklore
Earlier these bands were announced at top of the bill for the 23rd annual festival in Quincy, Calif.: Primus, Thievery Corporation, moe. Steel Pulse, Leftover Salmon, Gamatik, Emancipator , the Infamous Stringdusters, the North Mississippi Allstars and the John Scofield Uberjam Band.
