Truth is stranger than Leopold and his Fiction

Leoplod and his fiction
Leopold and his Fiction come to the storied Red Room for Silver Bullet Thursday.

What can a venue bring as a follow-up to Les Claypool’s Duo De Twang with the Reformed Whores? Leopold and his Fiction, of course.

The band is led by Daniel James, a Detroit native who is musically inspired by Motown and Iggy and the Stooges. The soulful punker brings onstage a “revolving group of friends with a common rock ‘n’ roll vision.”

“The band elicits a power when it’s time to perform that is unable to be harnessed in any other medium short of a fist fight,” James said in a press statement. “Whether that’s on stage or in a recording studio it’s almost hard to contain it. It’s more life than I’ve ever felt before.”

Leopold and his Fiction has toured with the Cult and ZZ Top. He has a record produced by Chris “Frenchie” Smith (The Datsuns, Slayer, Jet and the Dandy Warhols).

There are beer specials on Silver Bullet Thursdays in the Red Room.

An ’80s tribute band, Radar Love, performs Friday in the Crown Room. There will be no cover charge.
