Los Angeles alternative rock pioneers Jane’s Addiction has some pretty notable accomplishments in their pockets. Formed in 1985, the group’s lineup through their classic releases, Ritual de lo Habitual and Nothing’s Shocking included vocalist Perry Farrell who would go on to perform in Porno For Pyros and create Lollapalooza which was originally molded around being a touring festival accompanying Jane’s Addiction’s farewell string of shows, and guitarist Dave Navarro who would record and tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers among others. While the band has toured sporadically over the years with musicians like Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, RHCP’s Flea and Bauhaus/Love And Rockets’ Daniel Ash filling in, original bassist Eric Avery recently rejoined the band, leading the group to embark on a refreshed series of live shows featuring all four members of the group’s classic lineup.
For the second leg of the group’s current North American tour with Love And Rockets, the bands will be landing in Reno on Friday, October 11th for a performance at the Grand Sierra Resort’s Grand Theatre.
Love And Rockets emerged from the ashes of Bauhaus, featuring three of the four members who opted to continue recording goth influenced rock with more of a shimmery synth or pop touch. Singles like “So Alive” and the group’s dark sounding cover of the Motown song “Ball of Confusion” peaked in underground electronic clubs in the mid 80s, and the group has retained an on the fringe air of electronic music since.
