Always ones to put on a spirited Irish-influenced hardcore show, Boston’s Dropkick Murphys will be hitting the West Coast and heading back across the country on a tour culminating in four hometown shows around St. Paddy’s Day. The month+ long tour will have the band playing inside the Grand Theatre inside Reno’s Grand Sierra Casino on Thursday, February 15th.
Championing the working class through energetic hardcore and Irish drinking tunes, Dropkick Murphys have built their shows into events through years of touring and a willingness to take chances to go where most others band have not.
The group’s last jaunt through the Reno/Lake Tahoe area was touring for their acoustic albums which reworked the unreleased songs of Woody Guthrie through a collaboration with the revolutionay folk singer’s living family members. For this tour, however, the band will be plugging back in and playing songs from their 12 studio albums in their usual style. In tow will be punk band Pennywise and authentic Irish band The Scratch.
