Photographer’s notebook: People came out to TJ’s Corral Friday night in style and country casual to see Clare Dunn and Aaron Watson.
Dunn’s boots were the first to step onstage. She definitely brought her “A” game. She has a talented great band behind her as well. She sang her heart out, as her blonde hair was flying all over, and did amazing on guitar.
She rocked out but stayed true to her country-girl roots. People sang along and the “party pit” area provided a good spot for couples to dance together. It was a simply stunning sunset. Dunn and her band ended their set with a fantastic rendition of MC5’s “Kick Out The Jams.” She left the stage asking the crowd to cheer for the headliner Aaron Watson, noting she’s been a fan of his since she was a little girl.
It took a minute for Watson to come on stage but that just allowed for the venue to really fill up. Watson and his polished band lit up the stage, including a superb fiddler from Texas! You can tell the band really has fun together. Watson told the crowd that all proceeds from the show go to his wife’s purse and that she thanks everyone, as well. He said she is back in Texas, probably on Amazon Prime right now.
Both Dunn & Watson gave plenty of love to our troops and their families, both dedicated songs, as well. Watson shared that his father was a disabled Vietnam veteran and asked everyone to raise their hats and cups to honor those who have given us freedom. Another great show by Carson Valley Inn at TJ’s Corral in Minden, Nevada.
