Photographer’s notebook: Easily the best show of the year and maybe for 2019, also, The Main Squeeze just gets better every time I see them. Max Newman may be one of the best rock guitarists out there alive right now, with a killer band to back him up — super vocalist Corey Frye, master keyboardist Ben “Smiley” Silverstein. with rhythm section Rob Walker on bass and Reuben Gingrich on drums. This outfit provides in-your-face rock, squeezing a huge sound out of a funk and blues band. Truly a superb performance Saturday night at Crystal Bay Casino Lake Tahoe.
