Pat Benatar and her soulmate/husband brought their 40 year anniversary tour to Carson Valley Inn on Wednesday and not a seat remained in TJs Corral — even standing-room tickets had sold out by showtime.
Benatar (whose msrried name is Patricia Mae Giraldo) shared that the couple first met in music when he was 23 and she was 26. They have been married 37 years.
Always giving it her best shot, Benatar and her powerful rock and roll vocals earned four Grammy Awards, five platinum albums, three gold albums, and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles. For four decades, Giraldo, a guitarist, has been at her side, both onstage and off.
They engaged the crowd with road-tour stories and even came out as an acoustic duo. In they end, they delivered the hit “Heartbreaker.”
“Your love is like a tidal wave, spinning over my head
Drownin’ me in your promises, better left unsaid
You’re the right kind of dreamer, to release my inner fantasy
The invincible winner, and you know that you were born to be
You’re a heartbreaker
Dream maker, a love taker
Don’t you mess around with me.”

I was there with three never before attendees to their show. And what a show. They are all ready to return.
