Mojo Green, Reno’s horn heavy funk and soul band, entertained a packed crowd Saturday in the Vinyl showroom at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. It was all for a good cause, as ticket proceeds went to the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “Lake Tahoe always brings it to the dance floor,” the band noted on its Facebook page. Frontwoman Jenes Carter led the charge, backed by bandmates Tim Bain (lead guitar and vocals), Monty Adams (trumpet and vocals), Fletch Fletcher (drums), Dave Strawn (bass), Kevin Thomas (baritone and tenor saxophone) and John Bennum (trombone). This week, Mojo Green will play at the Hangtown Music Festival in Placerville, performing two Friday afternoon sets. “Primed and ready to pop!” the band assured the festy crowd.
