As part of the Heavenly Village summer series, Liquid Kactus took the stage on Friday May 29. It is a funk, jam and very high energy band based in Arcata. Three of the band members grew up on the North and West shores of Lake Tahoe, so it was indeed a homecoming for them.
The crowd loved them and continued to dance, and then asked for more. They have grown together as a band and it is apparent in the tightness and flow of each song. They played several songs off of their CD, which sold out at the show.
Perhaps I am slightly biased, as Josh, the bass player is my son, however I would suggest to all, next they are anywhere at the lake, go and give them a listen. You will find yourself dancing.
The boys left Saturday as they had another gig up at Humboldt.
