The Golden Gate Wingmen played the Crystal Bay Casino on May 30 to a full but mellow house. It was a birthday party for Lisa and Owen, and everyone was dancing and smiling and grooving to some Grateful Dead tunes. These four musicians; John Kadlecik, Reed Mathis, Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane, are all very talented artists. The Golden Gate Wingmen is only a part of the music they shine, as they all play with other bands and other musicians. It was like being at an intimate Grateful Dead concert, right in my Lake Tahoe backyard. They were full energy and it was quite apparent that they were having as good as a time as were the concertgoers. Locals came out of the woodwork for this show, Deadheads and a bunch of music lovers on one more Saturday night at the CBC. Happy birthday, Lisa and Owen.
