Here’s excerpts from a press release provided today by the festival’s organizers:
“It’s been a very long wait, but after sixteen years, we are extremely excited to announce the return of String Cheese Incident to the High Sierra stage headlining with two full shows over two nights. String Cheese Incident first played High Sierra in 1996. The band’s members and long time fans see these performances at the festival from 1996 to 1999 as what propelled them on the West Coast and around the world. From their epic late night tent sets to the infamous “pool parties,” String Cheese Incident certainly made their indelible mark on the psyche of High Sierra fans.
“This year’s lineup honors many of the artists who have been a part of the fabric of the festival over the years. Artists like The Slip, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, Galactic, ALO, the Living Daylights, Dan Bern and many others to be announced have all played High Sierra spanning over three decades.
“The initial artist lineup includes String Cheese Incident for Two Nights/Four Sets, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Galactic, Shovels and Rope, The Wood Brothers, ALO, Nahko & Medicine for the People, The California Honeydrops, Barr Brothers, Pimps of Joytime, Surpise Me Mr. Davis, March Fourth Marching Band, The Slip, Omaha Diner featuring Charlie Hunter, Skerik, Bobby Previte & Steven Bernstein, Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real, Rising Appalachia, Turkuaz, Steve Poltz, Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, Living Daylights, Dan Bern, the Brothers Comatose, and Midnight North. Artist additions will be announced in the coming weeks.”
