Photographer’s notebook: Rok Of Ages, a classic rock tribute band playing arena rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s, performed on the Heavenly Village stage Saturday evening July 19th. Band members Peter Dallas (drums), Z Maddox (guitar), Fred Bensi (keys) Martin Motnik (Bass), and Stephen Austin Malanowski (vocals), were at the top if their game as they rocked it out to a packed and enthusiastic crowd. Singer Stephen Austin Malanowski gave his hat to a young boy, who was obviously enjoying the show, telling the boy “I Don’t have a drum stick, but here’s my hat for when you become a rock star. Don’t sell it on eBay!!” The second set they introduced Larry Otello (Jon Bovi) a Bon Jovi tribute singer. And I must say, he was dead on. The moves, the vocals, the whole package. This was one if the funniest events I’ve photographed. And did I mention the gorgeous dancers on each side of the stage! I think this was Heavenly Village’s best act so far. — Kurt Johnson
