Spencer for hire? — Spencer Kilpatrick sits in on lead guitar for the second time with Jelly Bread on Dec. 8. A recent UNR grad, Kilpatrick, and drummer Clint Philbin have a soul-grunge band, Failure Machine, which has an EP in the works.

Jelly Bread is from Reno but it considers the Crystal Bay Casino its home venue. The quartet has played in the Crown Room three times in six weeks, opening for the Motet, hosting “The Last Waltz” locals’ showcase and opening for Dragon Smoke on Dec. 8.
