Photographer’s notebook: The Eagles performed in front of a sellout crowd at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, August 29, 2014, the first if two shows. The security was doubled due to the fact that the Eagles restricted the audience to no cell phones or electronic devices of any sort during the show. Not an easy task to enforce with the 7,000 fans. But all in all I think security did an excellent job and the fans pretty much abided by the rules. As a photographer, I was more than grateful for the restriction because no on held an iPad in front of my lens at a crucial rare photo moment when one of the Eagles would happen to stray away from his microphone. In typical Eagles fashion, the music was impeccably precise if not a little subdued. There were some moments of heightened energy but they were far and few between. I found myself watching the videos above and behind the band more than I was the band. That’s not to say that it was a bad thing because anything you do while listen to the the Eagles is good, and listening to the band live is the best you will hear them. The Eagles closed Friday’s show with the encore performance of Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way” followed by the Eagles “Desperado.” — Kurt E. Johnson
