Dave Mason is a living rock legend. His career spans nearly 50 years and encompasses producing, performing and song writing, He is best known for his soulful voice and unsurpassed guitar playing. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of the group Traffic, and has enjoyed a lengthy solo career and continues to play to sold-out audiences.

At 19, Mason wrote the song “Feelin’ Alright.” First performed while he was with Traffic, this song has since become a rock and roll anthem. A prolific artist, Mason has penned more than 100 songs and recorded hit singles “We Just Disagree,” and “Only You Know And I Know,” among others.

Mason is a true classic rocker, whose brilliant solo career has collaborated with numerous members of rock and roll elite, including Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Cass Elliot, Rita Coolidge, Delaney & Bonnie, Leon Russell, Ron Wood, Phoebe Snow, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, and Jim Capaldi.

When Mason is not touring you can find him writing and producing new music in his home studio, in Carson City, Nevada, as well as tirelessly supporting philanthropic causes near to his heart, including Rock Our Vets, and Little Kids For Rock. He is known to be a great cook, with a wonderful sense of humor.

Photographer’s notebook: Dave Mason has a true command on his instrument and his vocals are spot on. He’s a real professional. A couple of years ago he was on his Traffic Jam tour. This year’s Alone Together Again at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on Sept. 30 was more casual, with Mason telling stories and showing old slides on the monitors. It was a much more relaxed performance and seemed better to me and not so constrained to the narrower theme. I put Mason up there with the real superstars such as Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, George Harrison and, yes, Jimi Hendrix, each of whom he has played with in the past.
