Two of the greatest contemporary folk blues artists have made an album together and will go on tour this summer.

Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ call their collaboration “TajMo: The Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ Band.”

TajMo will play Tahoe on June 24, at the MontBleu Theatre at Lake Tahoe. Ticket prices range from $40 to $55 for the seated show that starts at 8 p.m.

The album, to be released on May 5 on the Concord label, includes appearances by Bonnie Rait, Joe Walsh, Shelia E., Lizz Wright and others.

According to the Taj Mahal website, “TajMo’ is a historic collaboration between two generations of blues giants, converging their singular talents for the first time ever on an album of original songs and cover. The album was self-produced by the duo and was recorded by Zach Allen, John Caldwell and Casey Wasner at Nashville’s Stu Stu Studio.

Taj Mahal has been recording and performing his unmistakable blend of blues and world music for more than 50 years, winning multiple Grammys and collaborating with the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and more along the way. Keb’ Mo’, who has often cited Taj as one of his musical heroes, is a three-time Grammy winner who has collaborated with everyone from Raitt to Jackson Browne and Buddy Guy.
