Popa Chubby delivered his hard-edge blues to the Crystal Bay Casino Red Room on Thursday, Oct. 2. The prolific studio artist has released 24 records since 1994. The big man played from his chair throughout the set, with support from bassist Francesco Beccaro and Michael Leisure. He played a great Jimi Hendrix set including “Little Wing.” He also did great versions of “Over The Rainbow, ” “Further Down Up the Road” and “Peter Gunn.”
