
Crystal Bay Casino will be hosting the 2nd Annual Gamblers Run Music Festival, Thursday July 23rd through Sunday July 28th.
Gambler’s Run willl feature 19 different bands on 2 separate stages – one inside the casino’s Crown Room, the other on an outside stage, The 72 Mile Spirits Stage, in the festival area.
On Thursday, July 23rd there will be a “Kickoff Party” featuring the fabulous Samantha Fish in the Crown Room. Samantha Fish is an accomplished blues guitarist and singer-songwriter who has won many prestigious awards including The Blues Music Award in 2018 for “Contemporary Blues Female Artist Of The Year.” She’ll also be coming off of this month’s opening slot for the Rolling Stones at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena, in Missouri. Her high energy Kickoff Party show should not be missed.

Friday’s music will start with locals’ favorite singer-songwriter Darren Senn. Senn performs original tunes that combine engaging stories and well-crafted folk tunes. If you have never seen Darren perform, don’t miss this!
The Motet with their funky, bluesy tunes will then get everyone ready for the Friday night headliner, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. PPPP are a four piece musical powerhouse, known for their high energy psychedelic funk shows filled with infectious energy. They will have a special guest artist Karl Denson performing with them. Denson is a funk and jazz saxophonist, flautist and vocalist who holds the spot of playing sax for the Rolling Stones. He has also founded the group The Greyboy Allstars.

On Saturday, July 27th on the 72 Mile Spirits Stage, Cliff Porter’s Full Blast Collective will open things up. They are a Reno based band that bring a mix of funk, soul, R&B, and jazzy tunes. This should get everyone ready for Blu Egyptian and Assembly of Dust in the Crown Room. Mother Hips and The Main Squeeze will follow on the outside stage.
The headliner for the day will be Jackie Greene. Jackie is a singer-songwriter guitarist and is a locals favorite. He has a solo career now, but had a storied career with The Black Crowes. For Gambler’s Run, Greene is teaming up with another favorite, Eric Lindell. Lindell has played with many artists from War, Galactic and Ivan Neville. Together Jackie and Eric will put on a tremendous show, get your dancing shoes ready!
Sunday, July 28th will be another day filled with fun and exceptional music that will keep you smiling while you are dancing the day away. The day will start with Peter Joseph Burtt and The King Tide’s musical funk jam, outside on the 72 Mile Spirits Stage, until Clay Street Unit and Coburn Station take over inside, in the Crown Room.
Rayland Baxter and Donavon Frankenreiter will take over the outside stage, and get you ready for Sunday’s headliner, The Wood Brothers.
The Wood Brothers music is a combination of folk, blues Jazz and gospel. They will get you moving with their enthusiastic passion and capturing your attention which comes naturally to them.
