Three major shows have been booked for the inaugural BaseJam Summer 2015 Outdoor Concert Series at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and the music promoter hopes to add three to five more.

“We plan to have six to eight concerts,” Paul Reder, the president of PR Entertainment, told Tahoe Onstage. “Offers are out there but I can’t discuss them but they are big and would be great for the community.”

Greensky Bluegrass will headline the Lake Tahoe Bluegrass Festival on July 11 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.

Reder did disclose one of the events in the works would be a seated comedy show with a headliner who would be appear at Lake Tahoe for the first time. All of the other shows will be live music shows for general admission audiences in what will be called the Hard Rock Outdoor Arena, which will have a capacity of 7,500.

The most recent show to be announced will be co-headliners Ziggy Marley and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on Thursday, July 30. Marley will go onstage last.

The Saturday, July 11 Lake Tahoe Bluegrass Festival will have Greensky Bluegrass, the Del McCoury Band, Jerry Douglas’ Earls of Leicester, The David Grisman Sextet and New Monsoon.

The third annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival will be June 27 and feature co-headliners Iration and Matisyahu. Also on the bill are the Expendables, the Green, Don Carlos, Fortunate Youth, Vokab Kompany and Squarefield Massive.

Located at the site of the former Horizon Resort and Casino, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe opened in January. Its largest indoor venue, Vinyl, has live music several nights a week. The new outdoor facility will be located behind the hotel and will have a stage which will face the same direction of eastbound Highway 50.

Reder is a longtime Tahoe music promoter who has had shows at MontBleu, the Horizon, Reno and last year three concerts at Kings Beach. None of the Hard Rock outdoor concerts will conflict with the next door Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series at Harveys. There are 11 shows slated so far at Harveys.

“I have known the (Hard Rock) team for a while and it’s great to be involved with a group of forward-minded thinkers,” Reder said. “We are looking for things to complement the Harveys shows, something new to the market.”

PR Entertainment also will present on Saturday, July 25 the third annual Basscamp Festival at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course on Highway 50 just east of Meyers.
