Proving once again that Lake Tahoe is among the nation’s most caring and supportive communities, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe visitors and employees raised $13,134.25 in charitable donations during October’s property-wide “Pinktober®” event.
The final amount – nearly triple the resort’s original goal – was presented Dec. 1 to South Lake Tahoe Cancer League President JoAnn Conner, and will support the volunteer organization’s continuing efforts to provide no-cost resources to cancer patients in active treatment. Funding for South Lake Tahoe Cancer League comes entirely from individual and business donations.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe organized “Pinktober®” to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, asking employees to contribute and donating portions of the proceeds from sales of limited edition T-shirts, pins, and Pink Hard Lemonade beverages to the month-long initiative.
Donations also came from the resort’s $20,000 slot tournament, an Oct. 21 Mojo Green concert, and “An Evening with Dan Aykroyd,” an Oct. 27 event in which the “Ghostbusters” star held a meet-and-greet and Q&A with fans prior to a live art auction.
