Don Henley plays Harveys during celebrity golf weekend

Don Henley will appear Sunday, July 24, at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys.

Don Henley will perform at Lake Tahoe on the Sunday night that the celebrity golf tournament is decided.

The founding member of the Eagles will perform with his band on July 24 at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys.

Tickets are $59.50, $89.50 and $149.50. A presale begins Thursday at 10 a.m. at APEConcerts.com and the password is “living.”

The Eagles last performed here in 2014 when it played two shows at Harveys. Band member Glenn Frey died in January.

Last fall, Henley released his first solo album in 15 years, “Cass County,” which included the song “Take a Picture of This.” Henley will be busy this summer. He begins a European tour June  20 in Stockholm. A North American tour starts July 13 in British Columbia.

Henley launched his solo career in 1982 with his debut album I Can’t Stand Still, featuring the hit single “Dirty Laundry.” In 1984, Building The Perfect Beast produced four hit singles, garnered five Grammy nominations and won the award for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male, for “The Boys Of Summer.” In 1989, Henley’s The End Of The Innocence resulted in three more hits, including the title track, and brought the artist another Best Rock Vocal Grammy Award.

Henley is a founding member, vocalist and songwriter of the Eagles. The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

The Eagles formed in 1971 and epitomized a musical style that included elements of country, folk, R&B, rock and pop and became one of the most influential American bands in recent decades. The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 U.S. singles and six Grammy Awards. Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the best-selling album of all time, exceeding sales of 29 million units.
