Photographer’s notebook: The sixth-annual Tahoe Blue Vodka Bloody Mary contest at the Hard Rock Hotel was a sold-out hit, a fun day filled with great laughs and pool shenanigans. Fifteen booths set up to try their own spin on the well-known drink. The competition was appropriate on a Sunday for those to recover from the weekend or for those on vacations to keep going and enjoy. Mike Peron of FNCTN and Tahoe Blue Vodka put together a great event.
“All 15 bartenders came extremely prepared with garnishes, mixes and fun themes,” Peron said. “Bacon straws, corn on the cob, ribs, pizza and burgers were some of the extravagant garnishes. We even had a cannon ball competition in the pool.”
The Tahoe Blue Vodka girls were sweet, giving “tattoos” to patrons. Folks were snapping selfies by the pool as well as taking a dip the refreshing cool water. Some people enjoyed floaties and some just enjoyed lounging. People seem to be in great spirits,
Judges awarded Mixxology Inc. first place, with California Burger Co. taking second place. The People’s Choice went to the Buckaroos, with Mixxology Inc. taking second place.
