Dress up on a Saturday night with Z-Man

Z Man
Dressed for the occasion, Z-Man headlines Saturday’s Hip-Hop Costume Party in Whiskey Dick’s Saloon.

Here’s a treat: Z-Man and DJ True Justice play Whiskey Dick’s Saloon on Saturday.

The Hip-Hop Halloween Costume Party Saturday also features South Lake Tahoe’s Logic One plus Tip-C and Dee Day. Tickets for the Late-Nite Productions show in South Lake Tahoe are $10. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Press materials say, Z-Man, an emcee from the Bay Area, is best known for his unusual flow, extensive slang dictionary, and comical, party-centric tales. He began as a member of 99th Dimension, but also put in time with  Sacred Hoop and Gingerbread Man. After he released numerous cassette-only albums, Z-Man signed with Hieroglyphics’ label to put out his most high profile LP to date, 2004’s “Dope or Dogfood.”

Z-Man made his major label debut on Mercury/Island Def Jam in the trio One Block Radius.

“I’m bringing what I know,” said Z-Man, whose favorites are Digital Underground, Too Short and Big Daddy Kane. “I’m always up for challenge. I wouldn’t get down with this if I didn’t believe in it and it didn’t grab me. It’s tasteful and playful, but it’s still hard. There are a lot of emotions in it.”
