Liquid Kactus in Lake Tahoe

Liquid Kactus became a reality in the summer of 2011 in Arcata, Calif.

Three of the band members were born and raised at Lake Tahoe and came together as musicians and united with their music in Humboldt County.

Liquid Kactus combines many styles of music including funk, jazz and blues, always improvising and making each show a new listening pleasure.

Kyle McInnis and Bobby Carabetta, the newest members of the band, bring with them singing horns and an occasional vocal treat from Kyle. Bobby switches it up, playing the trombone at some shows and the keys at others.

May 24 was a sensational Tahoe afternoon. Under the gondolas in the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe, Liquid Kactus filled the air and many hearts with funky music. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed an afternoon full of sunshine and the crowd grew as the afternoon wore on. There were dancing bears and dancing children.

For an added treat, a man by the name of Antonio got up on stage with Liquid Kactus and did a rap number which had the crowd going wild.

And a good time was had by all.

Liquid Kactus is Jonny Yocum, guitar; Josh Foster, bass; Mike Grady, keys; Bobby Carabetta, keys and trombone; Will Rosenthal, drums; and Kyle McInnis on alto saxophone and vocals
