Social distancing continues, but the era of live sonic distancing appears to be nearing its end.
Several concerts are scheduled in April, May and June at Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room at Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. In accordance with Nevada guidelines, the shows will be seated events – musical chairs, if you will, spaced apart in pairs and groups of four. The capacity will be 150 in a venue that typically sells out at 750.
Upcoming concerts with early and late performances include Jackie Greene, California Honeydrops, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and The Mother Hips. The Jackie Greene shows have sold out. The Greg Golden Band, Petty Theft, and a Loud As Folk showcase will be single performances
The slated shows feature California- and Reno-based groups familiar to Crystal Bay concertgoers.
“They are basically local bands, CBC General Manager Bill Wood said, adding bands are not yet booking national tours due to the various guidelines throughout the United States. “They might be going from a theater to a club to an auditorium. No one wants to under book.”
Wood expressed optimism about presenting full-capacity shows by midsummer and noted some major shows for fall are in the works. Already scheduled are the Allman Betts Band with Marc Ford and Jackson Stokes on Sept. 4, and Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives for Sept. 24.

Tickets must be purchased in twos or fours. To prevent crowding, entry times will be spaced out. Concertgoers, required to wear masks, will be escorted to their seats. A survey will be conducted and temperatures may be taken. Patrons will not be allowed to dance in the aisles or the back of the room. Cocktail servers will bring drinks to the seats. The bathroom beyond the sports book will only be used by concertgoers.
