Feeling cold? Things are about to heat up with a show that will get people moving and spice up a wintery night: the B-Side Players will perform Thursday at Whiskey Dick’s Saloon in South Lake Tahoe.
South Shore’s funky 4 Piece Puzzle will open the show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 advance at the Sierra Tract venue. It will cost $15 on the day of the show.
San Diego’s B-Side Players formed in 1994 and released its first album, “Renacimiento, in 1997 and became nationally prominent with the release three more records in the early 2000s. The horn-driven, eight-piece band has an international sound, a blend of cumbia, samba, afrocuban, reggae and funk.
4 Piece Puzzle has a funky horn player as well. Saxophone player Seth Hall and his band mates played last Friday at Mikeypalooza, a benefit memorial for Mikey Sheehan. On its website, the band announced it would play “more notes for Mikey” at its show with the B-Side Players.
