Mojo Green, the rising funk band from Reno, plays Live at Lakeview today, Thursday, Aug. 14, in the Lakeview Commons in South Lake Tahoe. Musical Charis opens at 4:30 and Mojo Green goes onstage about 6 p.m. The weather looks good with no rain in the forecast.
Mojo Green started last summer with the release of the album “Funk in Public” and kept concertgoers on the dance floor all season, calling for a “Triple Shot.” The Reno funk band talks about its breakout, which began after adding singer Jenes Carter to the front of the stage, and putting a man named Fletch behind the drum set.
