Just a short week out, we have an amazing concert coming to our local music scene. Femi Kuti, the eldest son of the legendary Afrobeat musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, is set to captivate audiences at the Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room in Lake Tahoe on August 13th at 8pm on his Politics Don Expose Them Tour.
Femi Kuti has taken the genre of Afrobeat and combined it with electro and hip-hop in a unique blend that will surely captivate audiences and give us an amazing show. Some of Femi Kuti’s work includes his Shoki Shoki album, which some consider his classic. Other hits include Truth Don Die with 3.5 million plays on Spotify, as well as Sorry Sorry which also boasts an impressive 1.9 million plays. And gamers who have played Grand Theft Auto IV might recognize Femi Kuti from the radio station IF 99 in the game.
