CVI ropes Clint Black, Trace Adkins, Granger Smith, CCR

Granger Smith and redneck alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr. will be onstage at the TJ’s Corral on June 16.

With the goals being great live music this summer, the Carson Valley Inn scored three today – call it a cowboy hat trick.

Granger Smith, Clint Black and Trace Adkins will perform at the fifth summer concert series in TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, Nevada. Ticket details will be announced soon.

Granger Smith and his redneck alter ego Earl Dibble Jr. will perform in what might be the first outdoor of summer concert on Saturday, June 16. Smith last October released the album “When The Good Guys Win.”

Clint Black, who exploded on the national scene in 1989 with four straight No. 1 country singles, continues to record, his latest album being “On Purpose,” his first new release in a decade.

“To me, it’s only a ‘comeback’ in that I’m putting out something new,” Black announced on his website. “As someone who has never stopped working, I don’t see me as having gone away, as I tour extensively, write and produce for television, films as well as other artists.”

Black will appear at the CVI on Friday, June 29.

A strong advocate for U.S. military personnel, Trace Adkins will perform this summer on his “How Did We Get Here” tour, which starts April 6, stopping here via bus, we suspect, on Saturday, July 14. Adkins will be an adviser for Team Blake on Season 14 of “The Voice,” which starts Monday, Feb. 26.

The most recent show added is Creedence Clearwater Revisited, which will perform on Sunday, Aug. 12. The band includes two of the four original members of Creedence Clearwater Revival, bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford, a Reno-Tahoe area resident.

Tracy Adkins
Trace Adkins will appear this summer at the Carson Valley Inn.
