The Rotary Club of Carson City Nevada will host the “Capital City Brewfest” on Sunday, May 31st, marking the event’s 9th occurrence. For the Brewfest, Downtown Carson City will be blocked off along Curry Street between 2nd and 4th Streets to offer attendees the opportunity to join the community and sample a variety of beers, play games and listen to music, and check out a raffle and silent auction for a variety of prizes, all benefitting the Rotary Club and its programs.
On tap for this year’s Brewfest are the inclusion of a photo booth, a raffle, a silent auction, live DJ providing music, cornhole competition, food trucks, and also… beer! The raffle is set to include prizes like Chanel perfume and an espresso bar, while prizes in the silent auction include a hot air balloon ride or $1,000 scholarship for Western Nevada College. More details on prizes and items to bid on are listed on the Brewfest website. McFadden Plaza turns into an outdoor dancefloor as a DJ takes over. And a long toss cornhole championship will take place where participants are playing for a $500 grand prize!
Breweries from near and far will also be on hand, offering drinks for the over 21 crowd who are given a 5oz sample mug and can visit each brewery’s booth. The event benefits the Carson City Rotary Club, who emphasize that by attending the Capital City Brewfest, you are funding youth scholarships and community projects.
This event is open to the public from 3-8pm. To try all the creations you must be 21+ and a ticket purchase is required. Tickets are available on the Rotary Club website for $40 presale or $45 day of. Ticketed attendees will also receive a poker chip which will allow them to vote for their favorite brewery. (Awarded at 7pm).
