The Fray headline the first night of Susanville’s Hidden Woods Music Festival

Late summer of 2024 brought the brand new Hidden Woods Music Festival to the town Susanville, California. The event took over the Lassen County Fairgrounds, with a genuine feel of the area’s small town environment over the two days event, with 9 bands playing across 2 stages, a multi-stop bar crawl through three indoor themed bars all within a stone’s throw of the main stage area, late night cover bands and DJs closing out each evening, and several onsite camping options (or in town hotels for the less adventurous).

Secondhand Serenade, Lit, and The Fray played the main stage on Night 1, with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Hinder and Kaleo rounding out Night 2. Country rock group Huckleberry Road, San Diego punk band Ikana, and Chico cover based band Decades playing nostalgic party songs performed on the smaller Canopy Stage.

Picture of Shaun Astor
Shaun Astor cites pop music singers and social deviants as being among his strongest influences. His vices include vegan baking, riding a bicycle unreasonable distances and fixating on places and ideas that make up the subject of the sentence, "But that’s impossible…" He splits his time between Reno and a hammock perched from ghost town building foundations.
