April 2026

Justin Hayward is the voice of the Moody Blues, and on Friday, April 4th he brought the “Story in Your Eyes” tour to the stage at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe’s South Shore Room, taking the stage to be greeted with a standing ovation from the audience.

He brought with him an incredible acoustic band which helped everyone revisit the music from the Moody Blues. It became clear that many of those in the audience that evening grew up listening to the Moody Blues. The intimacy of the South Shore Room was the perfect venue for this experience as the sound was amazing and the simple backdrop behind the band was evocative of and reminiscent of past Moody Blues album covers.

His band included Karmen Gould on flute who debatably store the show with here magical sounds and Julie Ragins was on keyboard and added incredible vocal harmonies with Hayward’s strong vocals. Julie’s keyboard playing created the backdrop for so many of Hayward’s songs. The band also featured Josh Johnson and Billy Adamson on guitars.

This musical adventure was like walking into a time capsule, as bringing back a musical landscape that captured a past era of music that rang so personally to me. All of the songs they played were classic Moody Blues tunes, such as “Your Wildest Dreams”, “The Voice”, “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere”, “Question” and ended the night with “Tuesday Afternoon”, and “Nights in White Satin.”

Justin was very interesting during this performance as he told many stories about what gave him the visions to write certain songs, and he even had a answered a few questions from audience memebers. This made the show very unique, intimate and extremely timeless. At the end of the performance, they featured a unique medley of his greatest hits! Almost a sing along because everyone knew the words!

Thank you, Justin Hayward for coming to Lake Tahoe and keeping your music alive
