August 13th, Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room played host to an amazing concert. The opening band, Peter Joseph Burtt and the King Tide’s opening set absolutely captivated the audience and brought out the feel good vibes for Femi Kuti.
Peter Joseph Burtt, backed by players all local to Reno and Tahoe, brought an electric performance to the stage. Full of fun, life and even celebrating the drummer’s 65th birthday. They proceeded to set a high bar for Femi Kuti, which was exceeded.
Femi Kuti came on stage with great anticipation. Kuti, along with his band and troupe of backing dancers, hypnotized the audience with a powerful performance full of energy. The set was full of musical instruments of all variety and was complimented by three captivating dancers who kept the onstage energy levels high.
The audience moved and grooved to the sounds of Femi Kuti, sharing in the joy of life and live music.
