February 2025
On Saturday, February 8th, ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra), along with oening band Glitterfox, brought their energies to the stage at Crystal Bay Casino’s Crown Room.
The evening started with Glitterfox, opening with their indie rock tunes. Solange Igoa’s strong sultry voice delighted everyone there, a highlight being when ALO keyboard player Zach joined the group onstage to play accordion and together tore it up.
When it was ALO’s turn, Zach welcomed everyone, announcing to the room that “it meant a lot to the band that we were there!” ALO is a 4-piece band, together since 1989, from Saratoga, California. They are famous for their improvisational jam music and wildly dancing across the stage throughout their shows. Whether it be Lebo’s amazing guitar solos, Zach’s fun keyboard meanderings, or Steve Adams’ bass and vocals taking the lead, the group’s onstage emphasis is on exuding pure fun!
The band played a lot of fan favorite tunes, including “Need U,” “Heroes” and several songs from their latest album, 2025’s Frames.
A moment that seemed to elevate the evening was when Glitterfox returned to the stage and Igoa stole the moment with a rendition of Janis Joplin’s “Piece Of My Heart.” She mesmerized everyone with her strong gravelly voice!
ALO jammed for two incredible long sets and had the entire Crown Room audience dancing. Following the energetic applause when they ended their second set, they returned to the stage for an encore of “I Wanna Feel It” and then closed the show with “Purple Rain” and “Barbeque.”
It was a fun evening, and as the band wrapped up following their energetic performance, it was hard to say goodnight and go home.
