Assembly of Dust finishes a West Coast tour tonight at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in Marin County. The band is coming off an inspirational performance last night in the Crystal Bay Casino.
Assembly of Dust is lead singer and band founder Reid Genauer, Adam Terrell, guitar; John Leccesse, bass; and two newer members Jason Crosby, piano and violin; and Dave Diamond, drums.
On its website, the New York band described its music:
“Drawing on that influence and countless others, over the last 10 years Assembly of Dust has crafted a unique sound that recalls the likes of The Band, Traffic and Neil Young.
“They have taken that early ‘70s Americana swagger, put their own funky spin on it, and earned comparisons to the next generation of Americana heroes, including Ryan Adams, Mumford and Sons and Wilco.”
A like-minded band with Grateful Dead connections, the Colonel & the Mermaids, opened the Tahoe show. The members are Alex Koford, Ross James, Mike Pascale and Danny Luehring.
