Photographer’s notebook: Black Star Safari with Dan Green on guitar and Matt Mandela on drums, rocked it up in their own unique rock-folk-funk style at Stateline’s Lakeview Loft as the opening band for Tracorum on July 11. Mark Mickens as the “official-unofficial” bass player, once again did a great job of anchoring down the rhythm section. To top it off, Seth Hall stepped in on sax adding his bright, vibrant and edgy tones to the mix. — Kurt Johnson
