The Nevada women’s basketball team looks for its fourth consecutive win as it readies to host the Lobos of New Mexico this Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 p.m. from Lawlor Events Center.
The Wolf Pack is playing some of its best basketball as of late, having won three games in a row and four of its last five games. During this stretch of three consecutive wins, Nevada has knocked off the MW’s No. 2 and 3 teams in San Jose State and UNLV. These wins have bumped the Wolf Pack from ninth to seventh in the league standings, just one game out of sixth and two back from fifth. With four games remaining in the regular season, if Nevada can sneak into the fifth spot the team will earn a first round bye in the upcoming MW Tournament. In addition to potential postseason implications, Wednesday’s game also marks the team’s annual Play4Kay pink game.
New Mexico enters Wednesday’s game behind the Wolf Pack in the conference standings in eighth place. The Lobos are 14-13 overall and 5-9 in league play and earned a dominant win in Las Vegas over UNLV their last time out on Saturday.
