The Johnson Party performs at 9 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Alibi Ale Works – Truckee Public House.
The Truckee band fuses elements of reggae, rock, Americana and soul and advocates for a vibrant outdoor lifestyle culture and a deep respect for mother nature. The band members are all multi-instrumentalists and play a variety of electric and folk/acoustic instruments. When not playing music you can find the Johnson Party skiing mountain slopes or hiking in river canyons or involved in regional environmental projects.
Their first album, “Random Rooms, “was recorded in western barns, dirty apartments, midnight parking lots, deep southern forests and world class studios during road trips throughout the country. The album produced fan favorites “Free Time”, “Excelsior” and “Post River Trip Blues”.
Currently working on a second album of new original anthems and outdoor party tunes, the band is actively recording in the high mountains of California. Just prior to the pandemic, in March of 2020, they wrapped up their Tour of the Tetons, skiing and jamming for the ski culture mecca of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The band’s motto: “It’s not what you think.”
