Sammy J with special guest Jordan T will appear at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in the Cargo Concert Hall at the Whitney Peak Hotel, downtown Reno. Tickets for the all-ages show are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the show.
Sammy Johnson hails from Auckland, New Zealand, and has Australian and Maori/Polynesian roots. He delivers a mellow island-soul vibe, with touches of R&B, scat jazz and funk. His Reno concert is part of a spring tour that begins in Hawaii. He says his passion and vision is “inspiring change and positivity through music.” Jordan T is a former lead guitarist for the New Zealand reggae band Katchafire. He says his mission is spreading island vibes and aloha from Maui to the rest of the world.
