Reggae and barbecue are in the wind this Labor Day afternoon (Monday, Sept 5.) The Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson performs at 3 p.m. at the Best of the West Nugget Rib Cookoff at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. In 1974, when Bob Marley went solo — on the brink of international stardom — he surprised the music world by choosing as his lead guitarist the soft-spoken, American born Al Anderson. It was Anderson’s stunning lead work on such classics as “No Woman, No Cry,” “Dem Bell Full” and “Curfew (Three O’Clock Road Block)” that first alerted rock fans to the Wailers’ music.
