North Mississippi Allstars, Mark Broussard, John Medeski

The New Year’s Eve bash at the Crystal Bay Casino will be headlined by the North Mississippi Allstars. Special guests will be Mark Broussard and John Medeski. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 2. The North Mississippi Allstars are brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson plus a revolving bass player. At July’s High Sierra Music Festival, the bassist was Danielle Schnebelen, a talented singer formerly of Trampled Under Foot. Luther Dickinson and Broussard also played together with the Southern Soul Assembly. Broussard headlined this summer’s Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest at Squaw Valley. His Bayou soul music is a gumbo of funk, blues, R&B and pop. Medeski is best known for his band Medeski Martin & Wood. He appeared at High Sierra last July with his avant-garde jazz group DRKWAV.
