Midtown Social plays at Commons Beach in Tahoe City at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.
San Francisco’s Midtown Social dishes out “dance-worthy grooves and original soul-stepping anthems.” The band seeks to “redefine the California Soul sound with a no-fail, good-time sweet spot that you crave.” Blending soul, funk and rock, this 9-piece ensemble recreates the vibes of such bands as Tower of Power, Sly and the Family Stone and Chicago, while providing powerful vocals influenced by such artists as Bill Withers, Tina Turner and En Vogue.
